Hope everyone is doing well 🙂 Todays blog post is about the ever popular food and what we center our meals around, animal meat, and the affects that it has on your health. Everything I am writing and everything written in the article I am sharing with you is backed by scientific research. This blog today has nothing to do with animal cruelty or how the production of animal products is ruining the environment, (even though I believe both of those things) that blog is for another day. This blog and article I am sharing with you is about the affects that animal products, especially meat, has on your health! The main reason I went to a plant-based lifestyle is because I wanted to maximize my health, not because I wanted to be thinner, or because I wanted to get more muscle or maximize my performance(these goals are not bad ones to have btw). But when it came down to it I ultimately made the lifestyle change because there is extensive evidence and research that backs the fact that a plant-based lifestyle is the HEALTHIEST lifestyle to live. So, why is meat bad for you?
Saturated fat is present in all meat and fish, even chicken and turkey cooked without the skin. People who eat high amounts of animal protein are 22% more likely to develop diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. Red and processed meat is by far the worst. Beef, pork, lamb, bacon, sausage, salami, hot dogs, and lunch meats are among the worst meats for consumption. Abundant scientific research now links consumption of these kinds of meats with a wide array of chronic diseases and serious health problems. The article I posted below goes into more details about meat and how it is affecting your health. If any of you have nutrition questions or questions about the vegan lifestyle please do not hesitate to message me 🙂
